2016-17 Ticket Sales Internship - Atlanta Blaze (Kennesaw, GA)

The Atlanta Blaze, Atlanta’s Major League Lacrosse team, is looking for 2016-17 Ticket Sales Interns who will report directly to the Director of Ticket Sales.

The internship experience will allow the students an opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional sports organization through hands on experience.  Applications will be accepted from students currently enrolled in a college program.  The internship will be unpaid and priority will be given to students who can gain college credit for the internship program.  We will work with each intern to meet the course requirements needed in order to earn academic credit for his/her internship participation.

All interns will be expected to also assist with general front office duties as needed.  These duties could include answering telephones, filing, mailing prizes to fans, and other tasks as needed. Interns may also be asked to attend community and promotional events on behalf of the team.

The team’s front office is located in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Primary Responsibilities

·      Assist in calling multiple lists of fans and patrons for season and individual ticket sales

·      Assist in the coordination of game day ticket sales, including Will Call, Box Office, and Credentials

·      Assist with helping fans upgrade their seating selections

·      Develop a working knowledge of the ticketing software

·      Be able to assist patrons in their ticketing transactions both over the phone and in person

Internship Requirements

 

·      Eligible candidates include both undergraduate and graduate students

·      Must have personable phone and communication skills

·      Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required

·      Must be able to work well in a team based environment

·      Knowledge of lacrosse is preferred but not required

Game Day Summer Internship

 

Internship Details

  • Begins on either Monday, May 8th 2017 or Monday, May 22nd, 2017
  • Ends on either Friday, August 4th, 2017 or Friday, August 18th, 2017.
  • The internship is unpaid and you MUST be able to earn academic credit.  We will partner with you and your advisor to ensure all credit requirements are met.  
  • Interns report to our Annapolis, MD headquarters.
  • All interns will be assigned a focus in one of three functional areas: (1) Graphic Design & Marketing, (2) Game Day Operations, or (3) Business Development
  • Regardless of assigned functional area, all interns must be available to support Bayhawks home games that fall after their start date; home games occur on the following dates: Saturday, April 22nd, Friday, May 19th, Friday, June 2nd, Friday, June 16th, Sunday, July 2nd, Thursday, July 20th, and Thursday, August 3rd.

What does the Game Day Intern learn?

The Game Day Intern learns what goes in to planning and executing a successful Chesapeake Bayhawks season in the exciting working environment of the MLL. The Game Day Intern will have the opportunity to participate in the fast-paced action of all home games while learning additional skills in their assigned focus area as follows:

  • Graphic Design & Marketing: brainstorm social media strategies, advertise, attend, and photograph team events, and assist in the drafting and updating of design products
  • Game Day Operations: support the coordination of game days by assisting with event planning, stadium setup and breakdown, and interacting with fans to create positive guest experiences
  • Business Development: develop customer service skills while learning about the sales-cycle and assisting with the fulfillment of season ticket and sponsorship packages.

Major League Lacrosse is looking for a graphic design intern. This intern will work with our Marketing and Brand Manager on ongoing projects for the web, social media, and special events.  Candidate will be a part of the creative process for branding Major League Lacrosse.

Qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of the following programs:
• Adobe Illustrator
• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe InDesign

Candidates should have an understanding of the design process including design and typography, exporting processes to print as well to the web and digital file preparation. Intern will be able to work on different projects simultaneously and efficiently.

Develop social media content with opportunities to perform execution.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES:

Open to current college juniors (class of 2018) and seniors (class of 2017), current graduate students and/or recent college graduates.

Experience utilizing social media programs primarily Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

  • Assist with lead generation, lead scoring, and evaluation of all sales and marketing campaigns
  • Identify new customer segments that would enhance revenues and drive growth; includes doing analytical research and building fan profiles
  • Assist with compiling and evaluating historical and current sales data and demographics
  • Build and structure consumer insight surveys from start to finish.
  • Creating systems and structures to house and maintain data.
  • Analyze large data sets to determine relevant trends and significant data points.
  • Build mass email communications and surveys through Hubspot and Google Forms and analyze interaction metrics.
  • Research best practices for data analysis.

The Summer 2017 Public Relations Interns will be responsible the following duties:

  • Responsible for working Launch community events and promotions, as well as all 2017 Launch games (home and away)
  • Assist with research and writing/editing of press releases, stories, blogs, game notes, etc.
  • Assist in creating handouts, fliers, media guide, Launch newsletters, etc.
  • Assist in maintenance of team website, as well as social media accounts including Facebook and Twitter
  • Assist with requests by media during the off season
  • Assist with updating statistics and facts on Launch players where needed
  • Maintain clip book and monitor coverage of Launch in local, regional and national news
  • Assist with any other tasks assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be at least a sophomore in an undergraduate program and live in the South Florida area
  • Must be able to start by April 3 (Summer). 
  • Majors: Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or Marketing
  • Excellent writing and computer skills, AP style knowledge and Microsoft Office skills
  • Adobe InDesign and Photoshop knowledge a plus
  • Knowledge of lacrosse preferred but not required

Launch internships are part-time and allow students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional sports organization through hands on experience. The Launch accepts applications from students presently enrolled in a college program. Internships are unpaid but students are encouraged to seek college credit wherever possible.

The Florida Launch, Florida’s Major League Lacrosse team, is looking for Spring/Summer 2017 Team Operations Interns who will report to the Manager of Operations.

Launch internships are part-time and allow students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional sports organization through hands on experience. The Launch accepts applications from students presently enrolled in a college program. Internships are unpaid but students are encouraged to seek college credit wherever possible.

The Spring/Summer 2017 Team Operations Interns will be responsible the following duties:

  • Responsible for working Launch community events and promotions, and all Launch home games.
  • Assist in the coordination of game day needs, including field and in-game entertainment setup and tear down, locker room setup and tear down, etc.
  • Assist in the travel operations for players and coaches for home and away games, including booking flights, hotels, rentals and setting up practices and team meals
  • Assist in daily operations of all team equipment and apparel
  • Issuing and fitting of player apparel
  • Assisting coaching staff with training sessions and team run camps/clinics
  • Assist in packing all player gear for road games
  • Assist with any other tasks assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be at least a sophomore in an undergraduate program and live in the South Florida area
  • Must be able to start by January 4 (Spring) or April 15 (Summer).
  • Major: Communications or Sports Management (preferred, but not required)
  • Excellent communication and computer skills, Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge of lacrosse preferred but not required

·          REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES:

·         Open to current college students and/or recent college graduates.

·         Applicants must be able to report to work in our Boca Raton, FL office

·         Experience utilizing social media programs

·         Experience in Microsoft Office software programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

·         Photoshop/Illustrator, and/or Adobe In Design knowledge and applicant must have thier own software.
