Who are the Chesapeake Bayhawks?

The Chesapeake Bayhawks are the most successful team in the 15-year history of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the world’s premier professional outdoor lacrosse league.  They have won more than 100 regular season games, and hold the record for most post-season game appearances (winning 12 of 16).  The team also holds the record for most championship games played in the history of the league, with seven appearances since 2002.  The Chesapeake Bayhawks are proud to have earned five MLL championship titles since their inception (in 2002, 2005, 2010, 2012, and 2013).

Bayhawks Spring Internship

 

Internship Details

  • Begins on January 15th, 2018 (start date flexible).
  • Ends on May 4th, 2018 (end date flexible).
  • The internship is unpaid and you MUST be able to earn academic credit.  We will partner with you and your advisor to ensure all credit requirements are met.  
  • Interns report to our Annapolis, MD headquarters.
  • All interns will gain experience in each of these three functional areas: (1) Marketing, (2) Operations, or (3) Business Development

What does the Bayhawks Spring Intern learn?

The Bayhawks Spring Intern learns what goes in to planning and executing a successful Chesapeake Bayhawks season in the exciting working environment of the MLL. The Spring Intern will have the opportunity to participate in the fast-paced action while learning additional skills in their assigned focus area as follows:

  • Marketing: brainstorm social media strategies, advertise, and photograph team events, and assist in website editing.
  • Operations: support the coordination of game days by assisting with event planning, merchandise ordering, and interacting with fans to create positive guest experiences
  • Business Development: develop customer service skills while learning about the sales-cycle and assisting with the fulfillment of season ticket and sponsorship packages.

MLL Sponsorship Fulfilment and Sales Internship-Fall/Winter - Major League Lacrosse (Boston, MA)

DESCRIPTION:

Major League Lacrosse is accepting resumes for Sponsorship Sales and Fulfillment interns, starting in October, 2017. The Sponsorship Fulfillment and Sales Intern will be responsible for supporting the Sponsorship team in researching and prospecting for new business opportunities for Major League Lacrosse and its All-Star and Championship Games, as well as the fulfillment of current league partnerships. The candidate must have strong research skills and be comfortable creating and preparing presentation decks for potential partners. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, energetic, and entrepreneurial. This is an unpaid/for-credit position, and reports directly to the Director of Sponsorships and the Sponsorship Sales and Fulfillment Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for aiding and assisting in all aspects of sponsorship sales and activation. 
  • Support sponsorship team in researching potential partners and developing presentations for 2018 special event partners and 2018 season partners.
  • Assist Sponsorship Sales and Fulfillment Manager with development of partnership recaps.
  • Prospect new business opportunities across local and national sponsorship platforms, while creating new and unique sponsorship opportunities.
  • Assist in monitoring all levels of sponsorship fulfillment; traditional, digital and experiential assets to ensure partner requirements are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must be proficient in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus.  
  • Must possess strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ideal candidate is creative, while also highly analytical and detail oriented.
  • Prior experience a plus, but not a requirement

The 2017 Fall Business Analytics interns will be responsible the following duties:

  • Assist with lead generation, lead scoring, and evaluation of all sales and marketing campaigns
  • Identify new customer segments that would enhance revenues and drive growth; includes doing analytical research and building fan profiles
  • Assist with compiling and evaluating historical and current sales data and demographics
  • Build and structure consumer insight surveys from start to finish.
  • Creating systems and structures to house and maintain data.
  • Analyze large data sets to determine relevant trends and significant data points.
  • Build mass email communications and surveys through Hubspot and Google Forms and analyze interaction metrics.
  • Research best practices for data analysis.
  • Contribute to CRM and data analytics initiatives across the sales and marketing departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Full-time undergraduate/graduate student majoring in business management, statistics, data analysis, mathematics or computer science preferred.

Interns in office will assist in the further development of the department through sales, marketing, and working with our secondary website to promote all programs that are offered to youth. 

The 2017 Fall Youth Programming Interns will be responsible the following duties:

  •  Attend lacrosse and non-lacrosse related community events and tournaments to market youth lacrosse programming
  •  Assist with the development of camp and clinic curriculum
  •  Assist with supervising camps, clinics, and tournaments
  •  Assist with maintenance of camp registration and travel team websites
