The Chesapeake Bayhawks are the most successful team in the 15-year history of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the world’s premier professional outdoor lacrosse league.  They have won more than 100 regular season games, and hold the record for most post-season game appearances (winning 12 of 16).  The team also holds the record for most championship games played in the history of the league, with seven appearances since 2002.  The Chesapeake Bayhawks are proud to have earned five MLL championship titles since their inception (in 2002, 2005, 2010, 2012, and 2013).

Game Day Summer Internship

 

Internship Details

  • Begins on either Monday, May 8th 2017 or Monday, May 22nd, 2017
  • Ends on either Friday, August 4th, 2017 or Friday, August 18th, 2017.
  • The internship is unpaid and you MUST be able to earn academic credit.  We will partner with you and your advisor to ensure all credit requirements are met.  
  • Interns report to our Annapolis, MD headquarters.
  • All interns will be assigned a focus in one of three functional areas: (1) Graphic Design & Marketing, (2) Game Day Operations, or (3) Business Development
  • Regardless of assigned functional area, all interns must be available to support Bayhawks home games that fall after their start date; home games occur on the following dates: Saturday, April 22nd, Friday, May 19th, Friday, June 2nd, Friday, June 16th, Sunday, July 2nd, Thursday, July 20th, and Thursday, August 3rd.

What does the Game Day Intern learn?

The Game Day Intern learns what goes in to planning and executing a successful Chesapeake Bayhawks season in the exciting working environment of the MLL. The Game Day Intern will have the opportunity to participate in the fast-paced action of all home games while learning additional skills in their assigned focus area as follows:

  • Graphic Design & Marketing: brainstorm social media strategies, advertise, attend, and photograph team events, and assist in the drafting and updating of design products
  • Game Day Operations: support the coordination of game days by assisting with event planning, stadium setup and breakdown, and interacting with fans to create positive guest experiences
  • Business Development: develop customer service skills while learning about the sales-cycle and assisting with the fulfillment of season ticket and sponsorship packages.

Hospitality Intern (Summer 2017) - The Florida Launch (Boca Raton, FL) - Florida Launch Lacrosse - Major League Lacrosse (Boca Raton, FL)

The Florida Launch, Florida’s Major League Lacrosse team, is looking for Summer 2017 Hospitality Interns.

Launch internships are part-time and allow students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional sports organization through hands on experience. The Launch accepts applications from students presently enrolled in a college program. Internships are unpaid but students are encouraged to seek college credit wherever possible. 

All interns, regardless of department, are expected to assist with general office duties as needed such as answering telephones, filing, mailing prizes to fans, etc.  A successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational skills along with initiative, resourcefulness, and an ability to collaborate with fellow team members for the achievement of department goals.

Front office is in Boca Raton, Florida. 

The Summer 2017 Hospitality Interns will be responsible the following duties:

  • Responsible for working Launch community events and promotions, as well as all 2017 Launch home games
  • Assist with setup/breakdown of Birthday Parties which includes: ordering pizza, decorations, goody bags, etc. 
  • Assist in ordering food from sponsors for the Launch Club and confirming arrival time
  • Assist in organizing High Five Fan Tunnel before each game
  • Assist with on field Mini Games which includes coordinating start and end time with teams and making sure the teams exit the field on time
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down on field sponsor boards
  • Organizing locker room items: snacks, powerade, autographed items, post game food, etc. 
  • Assist with in game contests and t-shirt tosses
  • Assist with any other tasks assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be at least a sophomore in an undergraduate program and live in the South Florida area
  • Must be able to start by April 3 (Summer). 
  • Majors: Hospitality, Event Management, Communications
  • Excellent writing and computer skills, AP style knowledge and Microsoft Office skills

MLL Sponsorship Fulfilment and Sales Internship - Major League Lacrosse (Boston, MA)

DESCRIPTION:

Major League Lacrosse is accepting resumes for Sponsorship Sales and Fulfillment interns, starting in May, 2017. The Sponsorship Fulfillment and Sales Intern will be responsible for supporting the Sponsorship team in the fulfillment of current league partners, researching and prospecting for new business opportunities for Major League Lacrosse, as well as monitoring league merchandise for compliance with MLL Licensing rules. The candidate must have strong research skills and be comfortable creating and preparing presentation decks for potential partners. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, energetic, and entrepreneurial. This position reports directly to the Director of Sponsorships and the Sponsorship Sales and Fulfillment Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for aiding and assisting in all aspects of sponsorship sales and activation. 
  • Support sponsorship team in researching potential partners and developing presentations for special event partners and 2018 season partners.
  • Cataloging of photographs and social media elements weekly for use in partnership recaps
  • Assist Sponsorship Sales and Fulfillment Manager with development of partnership recaps.
  • Prospect new business opportunities across local and national sponsorship platforms, while creating new and unique sponsorship opportunities.
  • Assist in monitoring all levels of sponsorship fulfillment; traditional, digital and experiential assets to ensure partner requirements are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must be proficient in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus.

Major League Lacrosse is looking for a graphic design intern. This intern will work with our Marketing and Brand Manager on ongoing projects for the web, social media, and special events.  Candidate will be a part of the creative process for branding Major League Lacrosse.

Qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of the following programs:

Creating and editing graphics for the League’s digital media channels and e-mail releases and insider newsletters including but not limited to sponsor advertisements, promotional banners and photos.

Oversee/perform routine website maintenance and all future development.

Develop social media content with opportunities to perform execution.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES:

Open to current college juniors (class of 2018) and seniors (class of 2017), current graduate students and/or recent college graduates.

Experience utilizing social media programs primarily Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Experience in Microsoft Office software programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Photoshop/Illustrator, and/or Adobe In Design knowledge.

HTML, CSS, Javascript, Dreamweaver, and Flash knowledge a plus.

  • Assist with lead generation, lead scoring, and evaluation of all sales and marketing campaigns
  • Identify new customer segments that would enhance revenues and drive growth; includes doing analytical research and building fan profiles
  • Assist with compiling and evaluating historical and current sales data and demographics
  • Build and structure consumer insight surveys from start to finish.
  • Creating systems and structures to house and maintain data.
  • Analyze large data sets to determine relevant trends and significant data points.
  • Build mass email communications and surveys through Hubspot and Google Forms and analyze interaction metrics.
  • Research best practices for data analysis.
  • Contribute to CRM and data analytics initiatives across the sales and marketing departments.
