Marketing/Operations Intern - Chesapeake Bayhawks (Annapolis, MD)

The Bayhawks Marketing/Operations  Intern will experience the fast-paced working environment of Major League Lacrosse while gaining a deep understanding of sports marketing through hands-on learning.  The primary responsibility of the Marketing Intern is to spread the word and solicit interest in the Chesapeake Bayhawks. The Marketing intern will assist with the planning and execution of promotional campaigns, help develop the Bayhawks brand strategy, and assist with additional advertising efforts.  While this position gives you invaluable experience in the sports management field, it is a non-paid position, however we work with each intern to meet the course requirements needed  in order to earn academic credit for his/her internship participation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily assistance to the Marketing and Operations Teams including planning and execution of each promotion and sponsor campaign event.*
  • Support Marketing team in coordinating overall sponsorship servicing.*
  • Develop positive relationships with fans, clients, and community member to help promote the Chesapeake Bayhawks.*
  • Assist with developing and coordinating new programs for lead generation.
  • Assist with creative aspects of Bayhawks branding.
  • Track and manage Corporate Partner promotions and prize fulfillment.
  • Attend all promotional events & appearances throughout community.
  • Help develop and execute off season activities.
  • Participate in additional administrative tasks as required.

Job Requirements:

  • Eligible candidates include both Undergraduate and Graduate students.
  • Recommended for Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Management, or Sports Management majors.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must have a positive and optimistic attitude.
  • Ability to work well in a team based environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must possess working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Photoshop.
  • Must be self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude and a strong desire to learn.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Travel Requirements:

  • Approximately 20% of time will be spent at Bayhawks Events and Promotions.
  • Approximately 80% of time will be spent at the front office.

Sales Intern - Chesapeake Bayhawks (Annapolis, MD)

The Bayhawks Sales Intern experiences the fast-paced working environment of Major League Lacrosse while gaining experience in sales, business development and customer service. The Sales Intern will assist the Sales team in producing ticket revenue by selling and servicing ticket packages to local businesses and non-profit organizations, primarily by phone and outreach events. This individual will gain experience in generating new business by prospecting new clients throughout the community. While this position gives you invaluable experience in the sports management field, it is a non-paid position, however we work with each intern to meet the course requirements needed  in order to earn academic credit for his/her internship participation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop a solid knowledge of the sales and business development process.*
  • Prospect and conduct sales calls to assigned leads in effort to sell season, group/corporate and partial plan ticket packages available with the Bayhawks.*
  • Attend team and community events for the purpose of making new connections and maximizing sales opportunities.*
  • Provide exceptional customer service to fans during games at our ticket kiosks.
  • Maintain customer sales database.
  • Participate in community outreach programs and appearances.
  • Work hand-in-hand with interns and staff on various assignments throughout the off season.

Immediate Opening: DIGITAL MEDIA MARKETING Internship - Major League Lacrosse (Boston, MA)

Major League Lacrosse is seeking hard working, creative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individuals to fill available internship opportunities in its Digital Media Marketing Department.

Position is un-paid however academic credit is always available to anyone who requests it ahead of time.  Candidate must provide their own transportation.

MLL internships are part-time and allow students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional sports organization through hands on involvement. 

All interns, regardless of department, are expected to assist with general office duties as needed such as answering telephones, filing, mailing prizes to fans, etc. A successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational skills along with initiative, resourcefulness, and an ability to collaborate with fellow team members for the achievement of department goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and Execute MLL marketing campaigns across all League digital channels.
  • Development of graphic and multimedia elements across digital channels to increase fan followings and drive fan engagement.
  • Creating and editing graphics for the League’s digital media channels and e-mail releases and insider newsletters including but not limited to sponsor advertisements, promotional banners and photos.
  • Design and build new site pages, special sections, multimedia applications, and sponsored content for the League’s digital platforms, utilizing HTML, CSS, Javascript and Flash software.
  • Oversee/perform routine website maintenance and all future development.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES:

  • Open to current college juniors (class of 2016) and seniors (class of 2015), current graduate students and/or recent college graduates.
  • Experience utilizing social media programs primarily Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office software programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Photoshop/Illustrator, and/or Adobe In Design knowledge.
  • HTML, CSS, Javascript, Dreamweaver, and Flash knowledge a plus.

Launch internships are part-time and allow students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional sports organization through hands on experience. The Launch accepts applications from students presently enrolled in a college program. Internships are unpaid but students are encouraged to seek college credit wherever possible. 

All interns, regardless of department, are expected at times to assist with general office duties as needed such as answering telephones, filing, mailing prizes to fans, etc.  A successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational skills along with initiative, resourcefulness, and an ability to collaborate with fellow team members for the achievement of department goals.

Front office is in Boca Raton, Florida. 

The Social Media Marketing Interns will be responsible the following duties:

  • Responsible for working Launch community events and promotions
  • Assist with research and writing/editing of social media posts stories, blogs, etc.
  • Assist in creating content for social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Video production and/or youtube content Management.
  • Resonsible for planning social media posts, social media video production and release.
  • Responsible for increasing social media following.
  • Assist with any other tasks assigned

Requirements:

  • Must bein an undergraduate program and live in the South Florida area
  • Majors: Marketing, Journalism, Communications or Business preffered but not required
  • Excellent writing and computer skills, knowledge and Microsoft Office skills

  • Assist with the servicing and sale of any group tickets, birthday party packages, programs and promotional ticket packages
  • Help to plan, organize and execute Launch events that will generate sales leads
  • Assist with any other tasks assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be at least in an undergraduate program and live in the South Florida area
  • Must be able to start immediately
  • Major: Sales, Marketing, Advertising, Communications or Sport Management (preferred, but not required)
