Atlanta Blaze – Kennesaw, GA

The Atlanta Blaze, Atlanta’s Major League Lacrosse team, is looking for a 2016 Spring and Summer Video & Graphics Intern who will report directly to the Director of Communications & Marketing.

The internship experience will allow the student an opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional sports organization through hands on experience.  Applications will be accepted from students currently enrolled in a college program.  The internship will be unpaid and priority will be given to students who can gain college credit for the internship program.  We will work with each intern to meet the course requirements needed in order to earn academic credit for his/her internship participation.

All interns will be expected to also assist with general front office duties as needed.  These duties could include answering telephones, filing, mailing prizes to fans, and other tasks as needed. Interns may also be asked to attend community and promotional events on behalf of the team.

The team’s front office is located in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Primary Responsibilities

·      Assist the Director of Communications & Marketing in the design of Graphics, Visual Effects, and Broadcasting for events and game days

·      Assist in the technical Run of Show on game days for the season

·      Assist with web site and social media visual content as necessary

·      Work with the Director of Communications & Marketing and the Director of Operations on coordinating visual needs for game days

Internship Requirements

 

·      Eligible candidates include both undergraduate and graduate students

·      Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Video/Film majors preferred

·      Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required

·      Must be able to work well in a team based environment

·      Knowledge of lacrosse is preferred but not required

·      Must have experience in Adobe After Effects, Premier Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop

Game Day Summer Internship - Chesapeake Bayhawks (Annapolis, MD)

The Bayhawks Game Day Intern experiences the fast-paced working environment of Major League Lacrosse while assisting in the planning, preparation, and execution of game day events. While this position gives you invaluable experience in the sports management field, it is a non-paid position, however we work with each intern to meet the course requirements needed  in order to earn academic credit for his/her internship participation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide game day assistance to the management team including assisting the Event Manager plan and prepare for each event.*
  • Support game day management team members with checklists and maintaining designated work area.*
  • Assist in the setup and teardown of designated work areas such as merchandise, field operations, ticket sales, etc.*

Sales and Marketing Summer Internship - Chesapeake Bayhawks (Annapolis, MD)

The Bayhawks Sales and Marketing Intern experiences the fast-paced working environment of Major League Lacrosse while gaining experience in sales, business development and customer service. The Sales and Marketing Intern will assist the Sales team in producing ticket revenue by selling and servicing ticket packages to local businesses and non-profit organizations, primarily by phone and outreach events. This individual will gain experience in generating new business by prospecting new clients throughout the community. While this position gives you invaluable experience in the sports management field, it is a non-paid position, however we work with each intern to meet the course requirements needed  in order to earn academic credit for his/her internship participation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop a solid knowledge of the sales and business development process.*
  • Prospect and conduct sales calls to assigned leads in effort to sell season, group/corporate and partial plan ticket packages available with the Bayhawks.*
  • Provide daily assistance to the Marketing and Operations Teams including planning and execution of each promotion and sponsor campaign event.*
  • Support Marketing team in coordinating overall sponsorship servicing.*

Denver Outlaws Game Day Internship - Denver Outlaws Lacrosse (Denver, CO)

The Denver Outlaws are currently seeking Game Day interns for the Denver Outlaws lacrosse team. This summer internship will be part-time, mostly game days only and allow a student the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional sports organization through hands-on involvement.

The game day internship is geared more towards those looking for hands-on, live event experience. From running on-field promotions, to setting up and managing pre and post-game events, to executing sponsorships…those who help the live execution of the lacrosse events will certainly wear multiple hats on game days.

NORMAL WORK HOURS: Game Days Only. Interns will typically arrive four (4) hours prior to the
event and stay one (1) hour after.

Game day interns MUST be able to commit to the entire Outlaws 2016 home schedule. There is no office work involved in the game day internship, just working at the lacrosse events at Sports Authority Field and select community outreach or promotional events.

Major League Lacrosse is seeking hard working, creative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individuals to fill available internship opportunities in its Digital Media Marketing Department.

Position is un-paid however academic credit is always available to anyone who requests it ahead of time.  Candidate must provide their own transportation.

MLL internships are part-time and allow students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional sports organization through hands on involvement. 

All interns, regardless of department, are expected to assist with general office duties as needed such as answering telephones, filing, mailing prizes to fans, etc. A successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational skills along with initiative, resourcefulness, and an ability to collaborate with fellow team members for the achievement of department goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and Execute MLL marketing campaigns across all League digital channels.
  • Development of graphic and multimedia elements across digital channels to increase fan followings and drive fan engagement.
  • Creating and editing graphics for the League’s digital media channels and e-mail releases and insider newsletters including but not limited to sponsor advertisements, promotional banners and photos.
  • Design and build new site pages, special sections, multimedia applications, and sponsored content for the League’s digital platforms, utilizing HTML, CSS, Javascript and Flash software.
  • Oversee/perform routine website maintenance and all future development.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES:

  • Open to current college juniors (class of 2016) and seniors (class of 2015), current graduate students and/or recent college graduates.
  • Experience utilizing social media programs primarily Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office software programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Photoshop/Illustrator, and/or Adobe In Design knowledge.

The New York Lizards, New York’s Major League Lacrosse team, are looking for qualified individuals to join the team as CRM & Marketing Database interns during the spring (January 2016 through April 2016) and summer (April/May 2016 through mid-August 2016) semesters.  All candidates must be eligible to receive college credits.   CRM/Database Marketing Interns will report directly to Lizards' Vice President of Ticket Sales and Operations and provide support to all initiatives regarding consumer insights, data analytics through data entry, analysis, and any other CRM/Database initiatives that will have a direct impact on the organization.  

Lizards' internships are part-time and allow students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional sports organization through hands on experience. The Lizards accept applications from students presently enrolled in a college program. Internships are unpaid and students are REQUIRED to receive college credit.

A successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational skills along with initiative, resourcefulness, and an ability to collaborate with fellow team members for the achievement of department goals.

  • Experience working on a database append/cleanup project for a company or organization is beneficial.  
  • Experience working on a statistical project and/or modeling for a sports team is beneficial

The 2016 Spring and Summer CRM/Database Marketing Interns will be responsible the following duties:

  • Assist with lead generation, lead scoring, and evaluation of all sales and marketing campaigns
  • Identify new customer segments that would enhance revenues and drive growth; includes doing analytical research and building fan profiles
  • Assist with compiling and evaluating historical and current sales data and demographics
  • Build and structure consumer insight surveys from start to finish.
  • Creating systems and structures to house and maintain data.
  • Analyze large data sets to determine relevant trends and significant data points.
  • Build mass email communications and surveys through Hubspot and Google Forms and analyze interaction metrics.
  • Research best practices for data analysis.
  • Contribute to CRM and data analytics initiatives across the sales and marketing departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Full-time undergraduate/graduate student majoring in business management, statistics, data analysis, or computer science preferred.
  • Exceptional work ethic, strong desire to succeed, professionalism, and a passion for the sports industry
  • Display strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access)
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Hubspot and/or other CRM databases is a plus
  • Show initiative and be a self-starter
  • Possess creative and strategic thinking skills
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Available beginning January 2016 through April 2016 for the Spring Semester; April/May 2016 through mid-August 2016 for the Summer Semester

The 2016 Spring and Summer Graphic Design Interns will be responsible for the following duties:

Compensation: This is a non-paying position. Interns must earn college credit for the structure of the internship. Interns benefit from meaningful work experience, possibly leading to future full time employment.
