2016-17 Ticket Sales Internship - Atlanta Blaze (Kennesaw, GA)

The Atlanta Blaze, Atlanta’s Major League Lacrosse team, is looking for 2016-17 Ticket Sales Interns who will report directly to the Director of Ticket Sales.

The internship experience will allow the students an opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional sports organization through hands on experience.  Applications will be accepted from students currently enrolled in a college program.  The internship will be unpaid and priority will be given to students who can gain college credit for the internship program.  We will work with each intern to meet the course requirements needed in order to earn academic credit for his/her internship participation.

All interns will be expected to also assist with general front office duties as needed.  These duties could include answering telephones, filing, mailing prizes to fans, and other tasks as needed. Interns may also be asked to attend community and promotional events on behalf of the team.

The team’s front office is located in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Primary Responsibilities

·      Assist in calling multiple lists of fans and patrons for season and individual ticket sales

·      Assist in the coordination of game day ticket sales, including Will Call, Box Office, and Credentials

·      Assist with helping fans upgrade their seating selections

·      Develop a working knowledge of the ticketing software

·      Be able to assist patrons in their ticketing transactions both over the phone and in person

Lacrosse Operations Intern - Spring 2017 - Major League Lacrosse (Boston, MA)

POSITION OVERVIEW:
Major League Lacrosse is seeking hard working, creative, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individuals to fill an available internship opportunity in its League Operations/Special Events Departments. Interns will report directly to League Lacrosse Operations Manager.
• Positions are available for Spring 2017.
• Positions are unpaid, with academic credit available upon request.
• Interns must provide their own transportation.
• Normal intern calendars are as follows but some flexibility is available with start/end dates:
Spring: January through April

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Summer:
• Maintaining MLL Roster Transactions as they occur daily in multiple databases.
• Manage various databases relating to games and player active rosters.
• Assisting with workers compensation reports.
• Fulfill various travel arrangements including flights, hotels and ground transport.
• Live and/or post event viewing of games each week as assigned.
• Review game tape when necessary for incident report support, sponsorship and licensing fulfillment and commercial broadcast commitment.
• Assist with planning logistics for League All-Star game and Championship Weekend, including possible travel to these events outside of Boston area.

REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND ABILITIES
Professional Requirements:
• Open to college upperclassmen & graduates.
• Sports Management background preferred, but not required.
• Experience utilizing social media programs; Twitter/Facebook/Instagram/Vine.
• Proficient in latest Google/Microsoft productivity software suites. Additional software knowledge in SQL Database, SharePoint, Photoshop/Illustrator, Adobe InDesign knowledge a plus.  Experience in Microsoft Access a plus.

  • Build and structure consumer insight surveys from start to finish.

Overview

The Ohio Machine, a Major League Lacrosse team located in Columbus, Ohio, hosts internship positions on a quarterly basis, year-round.  This is an unpaid, part-time position that provides a hands-on, comprehensive overview of all aspects of marketing and promoting a professional sports organization.  These positions are open to all undergraduate and graduate school students and can be completed either for school credit or as an unpaid position for additional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with event operations including but not limited to venue set-up and tear-down, registration and fan interaction at select events;
  • Assist in the production of ads, flyers, brochures, and other publications for the promotion of ticket sales;
  • Assist in the creation of graphics for digital, print, and web communication vehicles for the promotion of the team;
  • Assist with the production of team publications such as press releases, game notes, media guide and others;
  • Assist with the maintenance of team website and social media accounts;
  • Assist with marketing, public relation and ticket sales campaigns;
  • Assist with the fulfillment of corporate partnership agreements;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate studies program;
